January 1-3, 2010 An reenactment event of the traditional ceremony originally held early in the morning on New Year's Day during the Ryukyu Kingdom era.

"During the Ryukyu Kingdom period, a ceremony was held on New Year's Day. This event is a reenactment of this ceremony and is followed with classic performing arts and Ryukyuan dances performances.

-Traditional Live Music
Jan.1st-3rd, 8:30am - 8:50am at Una Forecourt.

-Traditional New Year's Ceremony
Jan.1st-2nd, 10:00am - 11:50am at Una Forecourt.
(Part 1) A ritual to pray to the gods, attended by the Ryukyu King and high-ranking officials.
(Part 2) A ritual for people to celebrate the longevity of the King and the prosperity of the Ryukyu Kingdom.
(Part 3) A ritual where awamori is savored by all.

-Ryukyuan Dances, Traditional Performing Arts (Free)
