Who says there's no fun out on the ocean in winter-time? Through January to March, the sea around Kerama Islands becomes the best place for dynamic whale watchings. Every year for their breeding season, humpback whales travel all the way from the Northern seas to the Kerama area. Don't miss this chance to go out on a whale watching tour! Kerama Sea is only about 30 km (about 19 miles) away from Naha, so hop on a tour boat and be thrilled to see exciting jumps, dynamic dance, and sweet singing of the gigantic ocean mammals in front of your eyes! Tours from various locations are available. If you choose to stay on the Kerama Islands and fully enjoy its relaxing atmosphere, you should start your whale watching tour from the Kerama Islands. There are also tours from Naha City, including round-trip fare to Kerama Islands, for those who mainly want to stay in Naha. RECCOMENDATION: * Warm, and preferably water-proof clothing and shoes. Winds may be very strong on the ocean. * Proper medicine to prevent sea sickness. Please also take enough rest on the night before the tour.
